mrc Press Release
mrc improves m-Painter functionality with helpers
February 2010 Lombard, IL - Today, software tool developer mrc announces the inclusion of
helpers in m-Painter, the WYSIWYG HTML editor built into m-Power. m-Power
is software that rapidly creates
web applications such as report-writing, business intelligence, executive dashboards, e-commerce, customer
portals, and wireless applications to name a few. m-Power is also used to modernize legacy applications in
a fraction of the time other approaches might take.
m-Painter is an open-source WYSIWYG text editor that allows users to customize the look of their m-Power-built
web applications without any knowledge of HTML or CSS. With the addition of helpers, m-Painter can now easily
complete many tasks formerly requiring javascript knowledge. The helpers introduced into m-Painter include:
- Calendar helper : This helper lets m-Power users include pop-up calendars in their applications with just a click of the mouse. Users may also control the numbers of months that appear in the pop-up calendar and limit the date ranges available to the end user.
- Lookup helper : Lookup windows are no longer limited to maintenance templates and can now be inserted into applications directly through m-Painter. Lookup windows open in the form of a modal box directly above the application and are ideally used in place of dropdown lists with over 100 options.
- Dropdown helper : The drop-down helper allows users to create drop-down lists directly through m-Painter. Users can select between drop-down lists, radio buttons, and text input.
"Our vision for a more efficient application development process is one of the driving forces behind our frequent m-Power upgrades," says Brian Crowley, mrc's Director of Development. "I believe these helpers will not only improve m-Painter's functionality, but the application development process as a whole."
