mrc Press Release
Multiple language support is now built into m-Power
February 2012 Lombard, IL - Today, software developer michaels, ross & cole, ltd. (mrc)
announces that the m-Power Translate plugin is now built into m-Power.
m-Power is a development platform that rapidly
creates web applications such as report-writing, Business Intelligence, executive dashboards, e-commerce, customer
portals, and mobile applications to name a few.
Developed as a separate tool, the m-Power Translate plugin gave m-Power users the option to develop multi-lingual
web applications. m-Power Translate's unique approach to translation provided users with a near-automatic translation
tool whose accuracy improves over time.
In an effort to expand m-Power's capabilities and further automate the translation process, mrc recently built the
m-Power translate plugin directly into m-Power. The move makes m-Power the only development software to offer built-in
translation, and makes web application translation simple for all m-Power users. To use the new translation feature,
users just specify their desired languages, and m-Power takes care of the rest. For instance, once the languages have
been set, m-Power will:
- Automatically translate all applications: Every time a user builds a web application, m-Power will automatically translate it and create separate presentation layers for each language. One application can have many different language presentation layers, as evidenced by the image below.
- Automatically display the correct layer: Logic placed within the application will automatically detect the user's language settings and display the appropriate presentation layer. For example, users accessing the application from Spain will automatically see the Spanish version, while users accessing the same application from France will automatically see the French version.

"Building m-Power Translate into m-Power brings near-automatic translation to all of our users," says Brian Crowley, mrc's Director of Development. "Even better yet, this enhancement makes it even easier for m-Power users to do business on a global level."
